Pumpkin

We met Pumpkin’s mom at an event, and we loved that she had a kitty named Pumpkin! At the time we were searching for a cat to represent our Pumpkin Spice coffee, we met Pumpkin’s mom at an event where we were serving coffee. We were so excited to hear that she had a cat named Pumpkin! Pumpkin is kind, but shy. She loves to lounge on windowsills and sleep on someone’s lap.

The coffee on this page is named after Pumpkin.

What it tastes like.

Did you know that we use all natural flavorings?

This means that our flavored coffee is a little different (and way more natural!) than other flavored coffees you may buy elsewhere! They are made from a very concentrated alcohol based extract, similar to what you may use in baking. Here's what you can expect:

Our flavorings are more subtle than artificial and oil based flavors. This is by design, our flavored coffees are designed to complement the coffee's natural taste without overpowering it. Some customers may find that the flavoring is a bit light for their taste.
We recommend enjoying our flavored coffees with cream for optimal flavor.
The best way to maximize the flavor is by using an immersion brewing method (such as a French Press).
The alcohol base will be evaporated off of the beans by the time they get to you. So your coffee will not have an oily residue that many flavored coffees have.
Since the alcohol evaporates, nutritionally there are no added carbs, sugars, or calories in our flavored coffee.

You'll like it if: you want real pumpkin spice warmth without the syrup-shop sweetness.
Maybe not if: you want a big, sweet, in-your-face flavored coffee. Ours are on the subtle side.

Getting it right

How we'd brew Pumpkin.

Our philosophy? If it tastes good, it is good. These are some of our guidelines for how to get a great cup, but don't treat them as gospel. Treat them as a suggestion.

Start with 1 oz of coffee per 20 oz of near-boiling water

Too weak: Add coffee before you add time. Longer brewing makes it bitter, not stronger.
Too bitter: Grind a little coarser, or let the water sit thirty seconds after it boils.
